
Ultrasonic sensors can be installed and operated in any position, and they are largely immune to environmental conditions. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when setting up the ultrasonic sensors, in order to achieve ideal measurement results. For instance, whencleaning the ultrasonic sensor, ensure that the sensor surface (decoupling layer) and the integrated foam around the transducer are not damaged. Water droplets or crusting on the decoupling layer may impair the function of the ultrasonic sensor. Note: light dust deposits are not critical.
A photoelectric sensor, or photo eye, is a device used to detect the distance, absence, or presence of an object by using a light transmitter, often infrared, and a photoelectric receiver. They are used extensively in industrial manufacturing. There are three different functional types: opposed (through beam), retro-reflective, and proximity-sensing (diffused).

A soft starter is another form of reduced voltage starter for A.C. induction motors. The soft starter is similar to a primary resistance or primary reactance starter in that it is in series with the supply to the motor. (Three wire or standard connection) The current into the starter equals the current out. The soft starter employs solid state devices to control the current flow and therefore the voltage applied to the motor. In theory, soft starters can be connected in series with the line voltage applied to the motor, or can be connected inside the delta loop of a delta connected motor, controlling the voltage applied to each winding. An electric motor converts electrical energy into a mechanical energy which is then supplied to different types of loads. A.c. motors operate on an a.c. supply, and they are classified into synchronous, single phase and 3 phase induction, and special purpose motors. Out of all types, 3 phase induction motors are most widely used for industrial applications mainly because they do not require a starting device.
