Electrical circuit that connects the motor terminals directly to the power supply.
L&T fully automatic star delta starters used to protect electric motors from starting current supply.
L&T FASD OEM Part No: MK1 FASD (15.00 HP 13-22A).
Suitable for load upto 15.00HP/11.00kw motor.
Consists of L&T MK1 contactors in star delta connection and MK-1 relay 13-22A.
The switching from star to delta happens with an electronic timer with suitable settings.
Available in sheet-steel enclosure.

An FASD starter is generally a combination of two contactors in star delta connection and an overload relay. L&T MK1 FASD is used to protect electric motors from the high current supplied during the start. The overload relay trips in case the starting current exceeds the relay settings. Similar FASDs can be found in other brands like Siemens, ABB, GE, BCH, Havells, Schneider etc.
