A distribution box is a component of an electricity supply system which is used for supplying power used for various electrical purposes. Normally, a distribution box would consist of a circuit breaker or main switch as an incomer and various industrial sockets which receive the power.

Distribution boxes help not only in efficient distribution of incoming power but run multiple electrical equipments (e.g welding machine) through a common source at a single point.
